ABOUT

Hello and welcome to my little corner on the web! I’m Jane Ridgewood - a coffee addicted writer from Grand Rapids, Michigan. I love writing in a variation of formats including poetry, reviews, short stories, columns/articles and so forth. I don’t like to limit myself, but I do like to challenge myself as a writer. I started this website back in August of 2011 to share through the blog some of my work, as well as tidbits out of my personal life. That does of course include pieces of my journey to reaching certain goals I have in life. For example, as many writers I do aspire to become a published author someday. Now while at this present moment I won’t be divulging information about the book itself, I will naturally be sharing the process of completion as I’m in the very early stages. It’s a work in progress, but more on that will come in the future.

In the meantime, I am more than happy to welcome you to read along my life and enjoy the work I do share on here. And now for further introduction and a more personal touch, I am ending this with some random facts about me.

--The first horror movie I ever saw was the original ‘Nightmare On Elm Street’ with Robert Englund. I’ve adored the movie, him and the genre ever since! Did I mention I was 7 at the time?

--My favorite smell is books. Both old and new, literature just smells wonderful to me. Maybe I’m strange for that, but regardless if I am there’s just something quite pleasant of the aroma.

--I am mildly obsessed with music of most genres! I enjoy listening to a rather large variety of music from artists like country sweetheart Kellie Pickler to shock rocker Marilyn Manson.

--Reality television is mostly loathed by me. However I will admit there are just a few reality programs that I find myself liking for whatever reason, including Kendra and Celebrity Apprentice.

--During my early teen years I was mildly obsessed with the Spice Girls. Oh yeah, I was even a part of a club with some friends. Made a scrapbook and collected some merchandis
e.

--Often times when I am writing I prefer absolute silence, or as close to it as I can get. Although depending on what I’m writing I do sometimes play music on low.
